Two years ago we decided it was time to spend more time with our children...a daughter and a son and their families. They each live in Oakland County, which was and hour and ten minutes away from us in South Lyon. Just down South Boulevard was a new condo subdivision just starting out. What a find to be only three minutes away from our grandchildren and son and daughter-in-law. Our daughter and her husband are just twenty minutes away.
So with that in mind, we stopped in to meet Melody who made us feel like family. When we decided to build with Macliesh we were met by Joyce and Dan.
The warm welcome we received from Dan, Joyce and Melody made us feel like they would be with us all the way through this building process. This was a no brainer to sign on the dotted line. Melody was always there with answers to all our questions. The process of building was relaxing knowing that we were in good hands with Dan and his professional crew.
Dan Jr. came into the picture towards the end to do all the landscaping which turned out beautiful. When you talk to him you can see his mind working designing how the landscaping should look like. And...yes we had some input of what we liked to have in our landscape.
We now have been living in Sanctuary in the Hills East almost a year. We feel like this is our home now and feel so comfortable here. The workmanship is like everyone else says...Perfection!

“When it came time for us to downsize, we looked into the Sanctuary In The Hills condominium community just a few miles from our home.
At our initial visit Dan MacLeish gave us a personal tour of several units that were near completion. Given our past knowledge of Dan’s longstanding reputation for quality workmanship and quality materials we quickly decided to purchase one.
That's always the easy part for any new home build. (We had had two previous homes built). The hard part occurs during the build when changes are requested or builder/contractor mistakes are made or shortcuts are taken by the builder at the expense of the buyer.
The difference for us between this build and our first two was that there were never any hard parts.
If we wanted changes made to the architectural design, the answer was always "yes" – even after parts of the condo were completed – rather than "I'm sorry...we can't deviate from the drawing."
Dan MacLeish has been in the building business for over 50 years and his knowledge and experience are self-evident. He was at the job site almost every day checking on the progress and quality of each day's work.
Dan’s daughter, sales agent/decorator Melody Griffin, was also available any time we needed her input into the numerous choices all buyers face with a new home build. And if Dan was not available, son Danny Jr. would assist us (and he did the landscaping as well!). Dan and Joyce MacLeish, Melody and Danny and all their company's staff only wanted us to be happy with our new home. Who could ask for more from your builder?
